The
author discusses both the essence of work of any college professor and the joint
work of professors from different departments - teaching teams who work with
students for five years. Special attention is given to professional competence
of the teacher of the coming third millenium: what knowledge of his subject and
other subjects he/she must posses, what professional skills in Education Theory
and Psychology are indispensable for a college professor (developing
organisation of subjects and knowledge assessment, selection of the class form,
organisation of extra-curricular activities of students, determining the time of
the subject acquisition by students, their work with information media, using
rational kinds of memory, attention, etc.); what skills of verbal and non-verbal
pedagogical communication the college professor should acquire.
Integrative personal qualities of the college professor which are part of his
professional competence (aptitudes, mentality types - conceptual, social,
aesthetic, authority) are also discussed. The author touches upon organizing a
system of special training of college professor and suggests the procedure of it.
This is the first research in this field.
The
book is intended for college professors, students and postgraduate students,
education managers and all those who are interested in modern pedagogy.
